There is always a noticeable shift around Harrison when summer begins giving way to fall.
School is back in session, sports schedules fill the calendar, evenings start feeling different, and families settle back into routines that disappeared during summer.
I’ve always liked that change of pace.
When you’re raising a family, the calendar tends to be measured by more than months. There are school years, practices, games, holidays, work schedules, and traditions that come back around each year.
Those routines can make life busy, but they’re also part of what makes a season memorable.
Fall also brings a different energy to local businesses. People’s routines change, holidays aren’t far away, and before long the end of the year seems to arrive much faster than expected.
This year I’m trying to enjoy that transition instead of rushing through it. There will always be another task waiting. Some seasons are worth noticing while you’re in them.
